Family Therapist (BSFT Model) - Transform Lives in Middlesex, Somerset and Union Counties. This role involves delivering in-home family therapy using the BSFT model to support youth and families across Middlesex, Somerset, and Union Counties.
As a BSFT Therapist, you'll deliver in-home family therapy that helps stabilize at-risk youth and their families. Your mission:
- Provide direct clinical treatment using the BSFT model—engaging, empowering, and effective
- Manage a caseload of 7-12 families and support peers with coverage as needed
- Participate in weekly supervision and advanced clinical training to sharpen your skills
- Keep up with ongoing education requirements to maintain fidelity to the model
- Ensure compliance with all clinical and administrative aspects of the BSFT approach
- Travel to families across Middlesex, Somerset, and Union Counties
- Master's Degree in Social Work, Counseling, or a related field
- Valid NJ-issued license (e.g., LSW, LCSW, LAMFT, LMFT, LAC, LPC) or license pending
- At least 1 year of experience in family support, youth services, or child welfare
- Valid NJ driver's license, good 5-year driving abstract, and reliable transportation
- Bilingual skills in English/Mandarin are a plus
- Ability to work with families from diverse backgrounds and show cultural sensitivity
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends as needed
- Be trained and certified in a nationally recognized, evidence-based therapy model

More About BSFTThe Brief Strategic Family Therapy (BSFT) model is a structured, solution-focused approach to treating conduct problems in children and adolescents (ages 6-17). Therapists work directly with families in their homes to identify and restructure interaction patterns that contribute to behavioral and emotional challenges. BSFT empowers families through improved communication, stronger parental leadership, and enhanced mutual support to reduce risk factors and promote long-term change.
