Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced ICU RN with at least 1.5 years of recent experience and current NJ or compact state licensure.
Responsibilities- Work in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of a hospital setting
- Provides care for critically ill patients, including those on ventilators and sedation drips
- Patient population includes stroke and cardiac arrest cases
- Required to float to 7 South Telemetry and other units as needed based on skill set and hospital staffing requirements
- Night shift, 3x12 hours (19:00-07:30), with every other weekend required
- Nurse-to-patient ratio is typically 1:2-3
- Utilizes Baxter IV pumps, ventilators, and both bedside and central hemodynamic monitoring equipment
- Electronic charting with Epic is used; previous Epic experience preferred
- Expected to provide advanced care to critically ill patients including ventilator and cardiac support
- Must wear gray scrubs as part of the dress code
- Local candidates are accepted at the same rate as travelers
- Pairs or travel teams are not accepted for this assignment
- Active NJ or compact RN license required at time of consideration
- BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
- Minimum of 1.5 years of recent ICU nursing experience required
- Ability to identify cardiac rhythms is required
- Experience with ventilators, sedation drips, and hemodynamic monitoring is required
- First-time travelers are not accepted for this position
- Former staff must have been separated from the RWJBH health system for at least 1 year to be eligible
- No active background or license issues permitted
