RawMaterials, Finished Goods, And Release Decisions
Incoming raw materials require review of test results and a decision about whether a defect differs from normal variation in natural materials. Finished goods require olfactive and sensory evaluation, followed by triangulation testing against earlier batches. Nonconforming materials, out-of-specification results, and customer quality concerns move into root-cause investigations and corrective actions.
The work depends on records that another team member can audit and reproduce. The manager maintains standard operating procedures, method records, equipment calibration and qualification records, and laboratory documentation. The IFRA Code of Practice places responsibility for safe, lawful fragrance ingredients and mixtures on the supplying organization, which makes traceable QC decisions part of the operating environment.
