Field Service Technician​/Industrial Mechanic

Triad Service Center is seeking a qualified Field Technician for service and repair of light industrial equipment in the Elizabeth, NJ area. Equipment includes floor scrubbers, sweepers, handicapped carts, checkout lanes, paint shakers, and other commercial customer equipment found in large retail and industrial locations. Technicians will also install and service grease containment units used with deep fryers. This position utilizes a company vehicle regionally and requires a valid, good-standing driver’s license.

The position is primarily Monday-Friday, averaging 40 hours a week. Vehicle, laptop, cell phone, and PAID TRAINING are provided.

Starting Pay Range: $20-$27.

• Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to diagnose, repair, and complete service calls and scheduled PMs on light industrial equipment.
• Provide customer service by performing preventative maintenance and repairs on customer equipment at their location.
• Visually inspect, test, and listen to machines to locate malfunctions; dismantle parts to detect wear or misalignment.
• Install new or repaired parts; clean and lubricate machinery components.
• Organize repairs and PMs by scheduling in similar locations, and maintain records of work orders, parts, supplies, and daily activities.
• Submit work orders, timecards, parts orders, and all required paperwork. Treat company equipment responsibly and follow PM guidelines, especially for company vehicles.

• Travel may average up to 300 miles per day.
• Regularly lift/move 10-50 pounds; frequently lift/move up to 100 pounds.
• Exposure to moving parts, electrical hazards, fumes, airborne particles, and chemicals.
• Work primarily Monday-Friday; weekends and after-hours work possible with emergency rates. On-call ends at 11 am EST on weekends and holidays.
• Follow safety procedures, report unsafe conditions, and use equipment properly.
• Dependability is essential: excellent attendance, timely responses, following instructions, maintaining a valid driver’s license, and adhering to regulations.
