Schedule

Full‑time;
Monday through Friday, 2:45 PM – 11:00 PM Eastern Time

Overtime and weekend work sometimes required.

Pay

Starting pay $20.00 per hour, plus an additional $0.50 per hour shift differential for 2nd shift. Hourly employees paid weekly via direct deposit. Pay increases based on training completion and qualification for additional jobs.

Position Summary

The Baler Operator supports the Corrugator team by managing waste material processing, including baling, loading, and recording waste shipments. This role is essential for maintaining waste accuracy and operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities
  • Feed waste into shredder/hogger and retrieve waste from production areas.
  • Accurately weigh waste bales and record bale weights on bale tallies.
  • Load waste bales and other non‑shredded waste into trailers for shipment following trailer lockout procedures.
  • Obtain waste loads from production areas as directed.
  • Work with returned goods.
  • Safely operate a forklift to complete job‑related tasks.
  • Clean baler equipment and report maintenance issues.
  • Perform daily cleaning tasks including cleaning out the inserter box, blowing down necessary areas, cleaning behind the ram, blowing off baler exterior, and sweeping baler room floors.
  • Maintain a clean and organized baler room.
  • Use radio to communicate with others.
  • Assist other corrugator personnel as instructed.
  • Complete additional duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications
  • High School diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Forklift driving required; experience preferred.
  • Prior experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.

  • Apply common sense to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or graphic form.

Physical And Environmental Requirements

Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. and perform physical tasks such as sitting, standing, walking, reaching, kneeling, climbing stairs or ramps, and operating equipment. Tasks may also involve pushing, pulling, carrying, and fine or gross motor manipulation. Visual and auditory abilities required include near and far vision, peripheral vision, and ability to hear and understand speech. Work performed in a manufacturing environment with exposure to noise, dust, and temperature variations.
