In this role, you won't just teach—you'll advocate, mentor, and unlock student potential, working alongside a collaborative team of educators, specialists, and families who share your passion for inclusive education.

Why You'll Love This Position
  • Targeted Impact: Focus on Setting I & II services using small-group instruction, 1‑on‑1 support, and collaborative co‑teaching strategies.
  • A Supportive Ecosystem: Work side‑by‑side with general education teachers, speech therapists, occupational therapists, and dedicated leadership.
  • Broad Licensure Pathways: We welcome Minnesota educators holding a variety of special education licenses (ABS, SLD, EBD, ASD, or DD).
What You'll Do
  • Deliver engaging direct instruction in small-group, co‑teaching, or one‑on‑one settings.
  • Adapt and modify core curriculum using multi‑sensory techniques, differentiated instruction, and assistive technology tailored to individual learning styles.
  • Design and execute personalized learning plans aligned directly with student IEP goals.
2. IEP Leadership & Progress Monitoring
  • Participate in IEP team meetings, helping draft meaningful, achievable goals and accommodations.
  • Collect and analyze student progress data to continuously refine instruction and celebrate milestones.
  • Maintain complete alignment with federal, state (MN), and district due process guidelines.
3. Dynamic Collaboration & Advocacy
  • Partner closely with general education colleagues to model and implement seamless inclusive practices.
  • Maintain regular, positive communication with parents and guardians to keep them connected to their child's growth.
  • Coordinate with therapists (OT, Speech) and support staff to provide comprehensive, wraparound support.
4. Classroom Culture & Student Engagement
  • Implement positive behavior interventions and supports (PBIS) that foster self‑confidence and independence.
  • Maintain a warm, structured, and emotionally safe learning space where students feel valued and empowered.
What You Bring
  • Education: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education or a related instructional field.

    • SLD (Specific Learning Disabilities)
    • EBD (Emotional / Behavioral Disorders)
    • ASD (Autism Spectrum Disorders)
    • DD K–12 (Developmental Disabilities)
  • Skillset: Strong organizational abilities, effective communication, dynamic problem‑solving, and a passion for student‑centered differentiation.
  • Experience: Prior experience supporting students with disabilities is preferred (enthusiastic, newly licensed educators are also encouraged to apply!).
  • Setting: A vibrant mix of resource room instruction and push‑in/co‑teaching support in general education classrooms.
  • Physical Expectations: Active classroom environment requiring standing, moving throughout the school, and occasional light lifting or physical assistance to support student needs.
