Job OverviewAre you looking for flexible or supplemental work to help out clients in their homes? We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Physical Therapist Assistant to join our team. In this role, you will work closely with licensed physical therapists to provide high-quality care to patients in various settings, including clinics, skilled nursing facilities, and home health environments. Your primary responsibility will be to assist in the implementation of treatment plans designed to help patients improve their mobility and overall physical function.
Duties- Assist physical therapists in conducting patient assessments and developing individualized treatment plans.
- Implement therapeutic interventions such as exercises, manual therapy techniques, and modalities under the supervision of a licensed therapist.
- Monitor patient progress and provide feedback to the supervising therapist regarding changes in patient condition or response to treatment.
- Educate patients and their families on exercises, home programs, and safety measures to enhance recovery.
- Maintain accurate documentation of patient treatments and progress in compliance with clinic policies and medical regulations.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive patient care.
- Stay updated on best practices in physical therapy and participate in ongoing professional development.
- Previous experience in a clinical setting is preferred, with exposure to both inpatient and outpatient environments.
- Familiarity with medical terminology and anatomy knowledge is essential for effective communication within the healthcare team.
- Skills in trigger point therapy and experience working with pediatrics or within skilled nursing facilities are advantageous.
- A strong understanding of physical therapy principles, including rehabilitation techniques for various conditions, is necessary for success in this role.
- Experience in home health settings is a plus but not mandatory.
