Job : 3145
Salary Range: $17.59 - $22.03/Hour

Schedule
  • 8am - 4:30pm Schedule
  • Part time, working 48 hours per pay period (2 Weeks)
  • Must be available to work every other weekend (Saturday/Sunday) and holiday
Position Summary

The Recreation Leader is responsible for assistance with planning and implementing recreation activities for the residents, special events and care planning documentation. This position keeps residents, the Director of Recreation and other departments informed of recreation activities and encourages residents to participate in planned recreation activities. Assists with resident needs in the dining room as needed.

Job Duties
  • Assists in planning, developing and implementing recreation activities and one to one programming for the residents.
  • Assists in planning and carrying out special events.
  • Responsible for daily documentation of assessments, activities attended, quarterly charting, MDS notes as required.
  • Keeps activity boards and signs up to date and accurate.
  • Supervise and direct volunteers during specific activities or events.
  • Keeps activity work area clean, neat and orderly.
  • Assists in notifying residents of activities and getting residents to events/activities.
  • Assists in providing a dignified, therapeutic environment for residents diagnosed with memory loss that encourages them to maintain their individuality and autonomy for as long as possible.
  • Adapts and modifies activities and/or equipment for use by the residents to enhance their quality of life including their fine motor and sensory motor.
  • Assists with large and small group activities and may provide individual 1:1 activities as needed or requested.
  • Assists residents with meal time in the dining room as needed.
  • To assist in providing a dignified, respectful, resident-centered environment for residents.
  • Follows universal precautions, facility infection control guidelines, sanitation and safety standards of practice in all work and activities.
  • All duties will be performed in accordance with current standards, guidelines, state and federal regulations.
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Experience in activities department preferred.
  • Ability to lead/interact with groups or individual residents with activities such as music, art, creativity, imagination, baking and cooking. Musical ability a plus.
  • Must exhibit an ability to give instructions/direct various volunteers in a diversity of activities and settings.
  • Must have excellent verbal and written (read and write) communication skills.
  • Must be self-motivated, with ability to organize and prioritize.
  • Must maintain good attendance and punctuality.
