Job Summary

The Engineering Technician will have a “process improvement and ownership attitude” to provide process leadership and support of overall plant objectives. This individual will have input in numerous improvements within the business, including support of production assembly.

Essential Job Functions
  • Ongoing recommendations, support, and implementation of plans for improved safety, quality, delivery, and cost
  • Assist in improving business processes by utilizing continuous improvement tools and methodologies
  • Work with cross-functional teams on completion of department projects
  • Regularly interacting and providing insight and influence at all levels of the business in leading and encouraging continuous improvement initiatives
Responsibilities
  • Develop, evaluate, and improve business processes utilizing knowledge of lean office/manufacturing tools and methodologies
  • Access and generate measurement and assessment tools enabling operational and continuous improvement leaders to evaluate potential areas for formal Continuous Improvement efforts
  • Recommend, support, and implement improvements, modifications, or additions that will improve business processes
  • Propose potential new manufacturing/business technologies, including new equipment or business systems
  • Assist with mapping business process flow, document inputs and outputs, and identify areas for improvement
  • Assist in the development, maintenance, and monitoring of improvement project plans
  • Monitor process improvement initiatives to ensure new processes are working as intended
  • Assist in continuous Improvement events (e.g., kaizen events, A3 projects, major project teams, etc.)
  • Coach and train team members to apply, support, sustain and develop a Continuous Improvement culture

    Other duties as assigned
Requirements
  • High school diploma or GED from an accredited institution
  • Knowledge of lean concepts/methodologies
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, Project)
  • Demonstrated ability to implement change in a way that positively impacts department and company performance
  • Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong team player with high level of people/interpersonal skills and ability to cross-functionally drive results
  • Ability to use hand tools
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as blueprints, maintenance and operating instructions, procedure manuals, and safety rules
