Summary / Objective

Mechanical Engineer focused on new product development and maintenance of existing products. Primary responsibility: develop products from concept to production-ready. Support production products through VAVE and continuous improvement. Work closely with internal cross‑functional teams and external customers and suppliers.

Duties And Responsibilities

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

Essential Functions
  • Solid Works modeling, drawing, and simulation.
  • Detail component and assembly designs, create engineering prints with use of GD&T.
  • Write design validation plans and testing procedures.
  • Use project management software to create schedules and adhere to timelines.
  • Track and communicate design changes.
  • Maintain revision control standards and BOM management.
  • Research and analyze data such as customer design proposals, specifications, and manuals to determine feasibility.
  • Assist engineering personnel in specifying equipment and develop testing methods for mechanical products or systems.
  • Perform root cause analysis.
  • Design and modify mechanical products and systems to fit application requirements.

Key Responsibilities
  • Demonstrate a strong commitment to LCI’s safety and personnel policies.
  • Conceptual development of products.
  • Assist in writing technical documents: test reports, product specifications, manuals, etc.
  • Assist manufacturing assembly areas through first runs of products.
  • Provide instruction and technical support for LCI production and customers.
  • Evaluate field installations and recommend design modifications.
  • Work with Manufacturing Engineering and Suppliers to ensure efficient DFM/DFA methods meet specifications.
  • Finalize all engineering documentation necessary for product release and revision.
  • Assist in establishing or upgrading internal engineering standards and practices.
  • Perform other responsibilities assigned by management.
Working Conditions
  • Primarily working indoors in an office environment.
  • May sit for several hours at a time.
  • Prolonged exposure to computer screens.
  • Repetitive use of hands to operate computers, printers, and copiers.
  • Travel to customers or other Lippert facilities may be required.
  • Floor time at customers or other Lippert facilities may require walking, kneeling, crouching, sitting, or standing.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related technical field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of hands‑on experience using 3D CAD software (AutoCAD, Inventor, or Solid Works preferred).
  • At least 3 years of Maintenance, Mechanical, or related industrial experience.
  • Proven ability to build and maintain strong relationships with customers, suppliers, and internal partners.
  • Self‑motivated, proactive individual capable of working independently with minimal supervision.
  • Demonstrated ability to drive and influence technical decisions aligned with business objectives.
  • Strong analytical capability to assess technical and strategic issues and present recommendations to management.
  • Effective communication and presentation skills with customers and cross‑functional teams.
