Position: Medical Physicist (Newburgh, IN)

Responsibilities
  • Calibration of dose meters (including dosimetric inter‑comparisons for QA) and radiation equipment (accelerator monitor unit calibration).
  • Beam data acquisition for treatment planning.
  • Preparation of data for treatment planning systems.
  • Development and improvement of dose measurement systems, protocols and software for dosimetry purposes (including spreadsheets and databases).
  • Ensuring compliance with federal, state and organizational regulations for radiation safety.
  • Participation in development of organizational performance‑improvement activities, policies and procedures to meet regulatory requirements.
  • Assistance in acceptance testing and commissioning of new machines and re‑commissioning after major maintenance.
  • Individual treatment planning, dosimetry calculations and treatment‑planning reviews (physics component).
  • Providing physics consultation to all radiation oncology personnel and radiation oncologists concerning patient care and treatment.
  • Ensuring routine verification of department treatment‑planning system.
  • Collaboration with information services department for software management of the department planning system.
  • Assisting in planning and shielding calculations for new radiation facilities and programs.
  • Interpreting and preparing documentation summarizing regulatory changes for integration into departmental operations.
  • Providing dosimetry checks following source changes.
  • Assisting with selection and acquisition of sources for permanent implant techniques.
  • Participating in clinical education, training and competency evaluations for medical physicists, dosimetrists and therapy staff.
Qualifications
  • Willingness to relocate to Newburgh, IN or surrounding area.
  • MS or PhD (preferred) in Medical Physics or closely related field required.
  • Minimum 3+ years clinical experience plus a CAMPEP‑accredited residency.
  • Passage of A  Part‑I and (preferably) Part‑II exams preferred.
  • Experience with HDR and SRS programs preferred.
  • Computer‑system administration experience with patient‑record and verify database applications desirable.
  • Certification in Radiation Oncology Physics by the A  or other accrediting body required.
  • Unsated candidates must be eligible for board certification and achieve status within 3 years of hire.
  • Must apply for and maintain relevant state licensing and/or registration as required.
Benefits & Compensation

Annual incentive target 5% of base pay. Competitive salary range $133,380 – $200,060 (location dependent). Benefits include medical, dental, vision insurance, 401(k), life insurance, short‑ and long‑term disability, paid parking/public transportation, paid time off, paid sick and safe time.
