Cardiac Technician

Job Overview

Beacon Health System is hiring a Cardiac Technician to observe telemetry monitors, recognize arrhythmias, transcribe doctor and nursing orders, and maintain a safe patient environment. • Observe telemetry monitoring and promptly identify arrhythmias.
• Accurately transcribe orders and documentation in a timely manner.
• Assist with emergency response and provide patient‑centered care.
• Maintain equipment, monitor supplies and telemetry tracking databases.
• Participate in unit meetings, education, and quality improvement activities.
• Follow TeamSTEPPS principles, including shift briefings, debriefings, and huddles.
• Collaborate with nurses, physicians, and other health team members to convey critical patient information.

• High school diploma or equivalent (preferred).
• Minimum age 17.
• Current CPR certification.
• Passing score on Basic Dysrhythmia test upon hire and periodic exams (minimum 80%).
• Strong knowledge of basic cardiac dysrhythmia and ability to interpret EKG patterns.
• Excellent communication, teamwork, and patient‑centered care skills.

• Possible exposure to blood‑borne pathogens.
• Requires standing, walking, and lifting up to 35 pounds (unassisted) and 50 pounds (assisted).
• May involve shift work, including evenings, weekends, and on‑call duties.

Requires the physical ability and stamina to walk/stand for prolonged periods, push carts, lift patients, and provide CPR.
