The Barger Gard Technician is responsible for preparation, set‑up, start and running Barger Gard manufacturing equipment under the guidance of the Production Shift Leader. Accountabilities also include ensuring that jobs meet quality specifications, manufacturing standards and that safety procedures are followed while working to continuously improve quality and productivity of manufacturing operations.

• Set‑up, operate and troubleshoot equipment to produce Barger Guard parts to specification.
• Ensure maximum efficiency of set‑up to include set‑up time, materials, production rate and material consumption.
• Inspect machinery, equipment and tooling prior to set‑up.
• Identify issues that adversely affect product requirements and communicate with appropriate department personnel for resolution.
• Perform routine maintenance and cleaning.
• Identify nonconforming materials/products and work with shift leader for resolution.

• Ensure part quality meets established standards.
• Perform housekeeping duties.
• Follow Good Manufacturing Practices.

• Complete all shift documentation/paperwork.
• Shift hand‑off – go over job status and updates with incoming shift.

• Participate in safety programs.
• Follow all established safety procedures.
• Wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment.

• Six (6) months manufacturing or related experience.
• Mechanical aptitude.
• Ability to read, write and speak English to meet training, safety and quality requirements.

• Experience operating manufacturing equipment.
• Organization and time management.
• Computer and software skills.
• Knowledge of quality control principles and Statistical Process Control.

• Work Environment:
  Inside (good manufacturing procedures/American Institute of Bakers certified manufacturing environment).
• Equipment/Tools Used:
  Manufacturing equipment, computers, controls, measurement equipment, pallet jacks, hand tools.
• Physical Requirements:
  
  Light work (lift 10 lbs) continuously;
  Medium work (lift 11-30 lbs) regularly;
  Heavy work (lift 31-50 lbs) occasionally (one to two times per shift).

  Bending, stooping, climbing, reaching, twisting, standing for long periods of time.
• Mental Requirements:
  Reading, writing, calculating, interpersonal skills, reasoning/analysis, works with minimal supervision.
