Position Summary:

The Maintenance Assistant is responsible for keeping a facility operating and repairing any problems when they are discovered before they have a chance to worsen.

Responsibilities and Duties:

• Must follow and promote safety policies and procedures and perform all work according to existing policies and procedures while maintaining a high standard of quality and workmanship in performing the duties.
• Working knowledge of all mechanical systems, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical
• Understanding of lock out/tag out
• Ability to lubricate machinery.
• Ability to complete simple projects (changing bearings, sprockets, and chains).
• Basic welding skills.
• Pipe fitting knowledge, able to thread and fit a pipe.
• Respond to, diagnose, and resolve plumbing emergencies.
• Have a strong desire, dedication, and determination to succeed, by continually improving skills through on-the-job training and various offered educational opportunities.
• Adhere to company safety rules and procedures.
• Perform preventative maintenance on machinery, rolling stock and building and grounds.
• Assist other team members as needed
