Advanced Practice Clinician (NP or PA) Trauma Services
Join Beacon Health System as an Advanced Practice Clinician (NP or PA) in Trauma Services. This position reports to a Practice Manager/Director for administrative supervision and the Practice Site Physician or designee for clinical supervision. The clinician coordinates and delivers primary care to BMG patients at designated work sites and provides clinical and administrative assistance to BMG programs.

- Obtain complete medical history and physical data on patients.
- Interpret and integrate data to determine appropriate diagnostic and therapeutic procedures.
- Perform a complete physical exam, document findings, and collaborate with physicians on acute and long‑term medical needs.
- Order laboratory and diagnostic procedures as needed.
- Synthesize data to determine preliminary diagnosis and therapeutic plan emphasizing prevention.
- Administer medications and injections per physician direction; suturing minor lacerations.
- Interview and advise patients on health and illness prevention; recommend community resources.
- Instruct patients and families on medications and treatment instructions.
- Maintain and review patient records; post test and exam results.
- Triage patient telephone calls and provide consultation.
- Coordinate or manage medical and surgical emergencies when appropriate.
- Provide monitoring and continuity of care between physician visits.
- Participate in health education and maintain related records.
- Prepare statistical reports as needed.
- Participate in interdisciplinary care conferences and assist with referrals and information dissemination.
- Assist in developing and coordinating ongoing education and follow‑up programs to measure client outcomes.
- Assist in development and compliance of clinical protocols, policies, and procedures.
- Participate in quality review and improvement programs; monitor quality and outcomes of care.
- Communicate with physicians to ensure quality and timeliness of services rendered.
- Perform other job‑related assignments and special projects as directed.
- Attend and participate in department meetings; provide accurate information.
- Complete mandatory education, annual competencies, and department‑specific education within established time frames.
- Maintain current RN license in Indiana and nurse practitioner credentials.
- Maintain current BCLS (CPR) and other required certifications.
- Adopt universal precautions, protective equipment, and ergonomic techniques.
- Comply with regulatory agency requirements, survey processes, and department policies.
- Remain available for overtime and additional shifts as required.

- Bachelor’s degree in Nursing and a current RN license in Indiana.
- Completed a nurse practitioner program with national certification.
- At least two years of clinical nursing experience in an appropriate practice area.
- Six‑month internship for new graduate NP or comparable experience.
- Master’s of Science in Nursing preferred.
- Prescriptive authority or completion of applicable coursework and state board exam within six months of hire.
- Bilingual speaking and/or writing skills are a plus.
- Thorough knowledge of practice standards, policies, and procedures.
- High level of analytical, interpersonal, and communication skills.
- Ability to work in a clinic environment with physical exertion, frequent change in demands, and exposure to biohazards.
- Physical stamina to walk/stand prolonged periods, lift up to 50 pounds, lift patients up to 35 pounds, and perform CPR.
