Reports to a Practice Manager/Director for administrative supervision and the Practice Site Physician or designee for clinical supervision. The NP is responsible for coordinating and delivering primary care, as specified by the appropriate certifying agency, to BMG patients at designated work sites. The role provides clinical and administrative assistance to BMG programs, collaborates in the education of nursing students, medical residents, and other pre-professionals.

- Obtain complete medical history and physical data on patients.
- Interpret and integrate data to determine appropriate diagnostic and therapeutic procedures as needed.
- Perform a complete physical exam and record findings. Collaborate with physicians in managing acute and long-term medical needs of patients.
- Order appropriate laboratory and diagnostic procedures.
- Synthesize data to determine preliminary diagnosis and therapeutic plan utilizing principles of prevention.
- Administer medications and injections according to physician direction. Suturing minor lacerations.
- Interview and advise patients regarding health and illness prevention. Recommend community resources to meet patient and family needs.
- Instruct patient and family regarding medications and treatment instructions.
- Maintain and review patient records, charts, and other pertinent information. Post tests and examination results.
- Triage patient telephone calls and provide consultation.
- Coordinate or, when appropriate, manage medical and surgical emergencies.
- Provide monitoring and continuity of care between physician visits.
- Participate in health education.
- Maintain related records and statistical data and prepare statistical reports as needed.
- Participate in interdisciplinary care conferences and assist with referrals and dissemination of information to appropriate vendors.
- Assist in the development and coordination of ongoing education and follow-up programs designed to measure client outcomes.
- Assist in development and compliance of clinical protocols, policies and procedures.
- Participate in quality review and improvement programs; monitor quality and outcomes of care rendered.
- Communicate with physician(s) to ensure the quality and timeliness of services rendered to patients.
- Perform other job-related assignments and special projects as directed.
- Attend and participate in department meetings and be accountable for all information shared.
- Complete mandatory education, annual competencies and department specific education within established time frames.
- Complete annual employee health requirements within established time frames.
- Maintain license/certification, registration in good standing throughout fiscal year.
- Direct patient care providers are required to maintain current BCLS (CPR) and other certifications as required by position/department.
- Consistently utilize appropriate universal precautions, protective equipment, and ergonomic techniques to protect patient and self.
- Adhere to regulatory agency requirements, survey process and compliance.
- Comply with established organization and department policies.
- Available to work overtime in addition to working additional or other shifts and schedules when required.

- Bachelor's degree in Nursing.
- Valid and current RN license in the state of Indiana.
- Successful completion of a nurse practitioner program with applicable national certification.
- Two years of clinical nursing experience in the practice area and successful completion of a Nurse Practitioner six-month internship for new graduates or comparable experience.
- Master's of Science Degree in Nursing (preferred).
- Attainment of prescriptive authority or successful completion of applicable coursework and passing state board exam to obtain prescriptive authority within six months of hire date.
- Bilingual speaking and/or writing skills are a plus.
- Thorough knowledge of practice standards and policies and procedures of BMG and the appropriate professional organization.
- High level of analytical skills necessary to assess the patient and participate in follow-up care planning.
- Interpersonal skills necessary to effectively interact with patient(s), family of patient(s), physicians, other professionals and paraprofessionals.
