Cashier​/Food Service Worker

Join to apply for the CASHIER/FOOD SERVICE WORKER (FULL TIME) role at Chartwells School Dining Services K12. This position is located at Elkhart Community Schools – 2720 California Road. Online applications are accepted only. Schedule is full-time, Monday through Friday; hours may vary. Pay rate is $14.00 per hour. Previous food service experience is preferred but not required.

• Operates Point of Sale system and handles cashier duties.
• Assists the Chef and prepares coffee; maintains cleanliness of coffee and cashier stations.
• Helps prepare foods such as meats, vegetables, baked goods and desserts; assists with catering orders.
• Performs general cleaning duties; removes trash to designated areas.
• Provides service in all retail areas, including cashiering and line serving.
• Maintains cash accuracy and processes deposits at the end of each shift.
• Inventories and restocks supplies and food products.
• Sets up serving line, monitors food temperatures, records them, and notifies cooks if temperatures are not within acceptable limits.
• Serves hot and cold items to customers; sets up items for purchase on a daily basis.
• Keeps refrigerator stocked and product rotated using FIFO; maintains pantry par levels.

• Previous food service experience is preferred but not required.
• Full-time schedule:
  Monday through Friday; hours may vary; details provided at interview.
• Pay rate: $14.00 per hour.
