Job Summary

The Territory Sales Manager will be responsible for developing and maintaining current account relationships. Additionally, will be responsible for increasing the sales and the customer base within the assigned region.

Position Duties and Responsibilities
  • Represent and sell industrial and automotive products with the goal of delivering a quality product at an acceptable margin and competitive pricing. The customer base includes diverse industries in furnishing, hotels, restaurants, marine products, and many commercial and industrial uses of vinyl-coated fabrics.
  • Ensure successful new product launches and communicate features/benefits to key decision-makers. Develop new custom products with R&D as needed to meet customer demand.
  • Work closely with key customers in Architecture & Design, Hotel, and National Accounts segments to present benefits and integrate our products into their standards programs, supporting long-term sales. Coordinate with OEM and Industrial customers to understand performance and processing requirements and act as the liaison with the R&D team to identify products that best meet requirements.
  • Maintain complete knowledge of each account’s current and long-term purchase plans. Proactively respond to changes and keep management informed of changes in plans, objectives, and buying influences.
  • Collaborate with customers to identify ways to improve production using our products, help them value-engineer competitive products, and manage current customers while developing new relationships with key decision makers.
  • Develop and implement strategic plans with management to identify key conversions, new product developments, and sales growth activities to meet budgets and increase market share. Coordinate target pricing and establish new programs with current customers.
  • Maximize new opportunities and strategically manage and expand the existing customer base. Build and establish a targeted prospect list for future business. Continuously investigate potential leads and record/manage all leads in Salesforce.
  • Respond to customersoncerns about product quality promptly. Jointly resolve issues that pertain to our customers and/or internal teams.
  • Provide sales updates and reports to senior management. Identify possible new markets, corporate relationships, and joint ventures.
Experience,

Skills and Abilities
  • Strong sales presentation and communication skills (oral and written). Also includes time management, territory management, and organization.
  • Ability to work independently and be self-motivated with minimal supervision. Stay organized and diligently follow up on activities, new product development, and visiting new customers.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills. General business knowledge and business savvy; basic knowledge of the manufacturing process.
  • Basic accounting skills to prepare quotes.
  • Ability to work independently and think on one’s feet.
  • Creativity and an innovative mindset to support strategic problem solving.
  • People skills and effective communication are core.
  • Ability to establish long-term relationships with customer executives, maintain a positive attitude, and pursue win-win outcomes. Develop strategic sales and marketing objectives, set quotas, and manage budgets.
  • Strong negotiation skills with the ability to track daily sales activities.
  • Exceptional follow-through to ensure timely customer communications.
Education and Technical Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in business or marketing preferred
  • Three years’ experience in a sales role
  • Prefer candidates with automotive or plastics sales experience
  • Experience working with CAD or similar software
