DoD SkillBridge Fleet Mechanic - Diesel Technician

Join us as a DoD Skill Bridge Fleet Mechanic - Diesel Technician at US Foods.

** This opportunity is exclusive to active-duty service members eligible for the DoD Skill Bridge program, within the last 12 months of their active-duty contract.
** It is an unpaid internship position, non-benefit eligible, in partnership with the DoD Skill Bridge program.

• Troubleshoot, diagnose, rebuild, replace, and complete repairs on diesel equipment, including tractors, trailers, reefers, and lift gates.
• Perform preventative maintenance according to company standards.
• Document all repair orders, PM lists, and parts used.
• Handle road service calls and perform road rescue as needed.
• Maintain accurate records and keep the work environment safe and clean.
• Manage inventory and assist in other maintenance tasks as needed.

• Minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience as a heavy-duty diesel or reefer mechanic, or 2 years with relevant certifications.
• Diagnostic and troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to read and understand technical manuals.
• Must furnish personal hand tools.
• Preferred: CDL A and DOT certification.

• Knowledge of EPA and OSHA regulations.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficiency with computers and software.
• Flexible schedule including nights and weekends; overtime as needed.

• Full-time employment in Management and Manufacturing sectors within Food and Beverage Services.
