American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Clinical Decision Unit/Med-Surg Telemetry position requiring WV or Compact licensure and prior cardiac telemetry experience.

• Work in the Clinical Decision Unit, a Med-Surg Telemetry setting
• Patient population includes cardiac, CHF, COPD, stroke, chest pain, and postoperative orthopedic, appendectomy, cholecystectomy, and EENT patients
• Night shift schedule, 7:00 PM-7:30 AM, 36 hours per week
• Every other weekend required
• Floating may be required
• Charting system is Cerner
• Orientation held every other Monday

• Active WV or Compact RN license required (pending license accepted for consideration)
• BLS and ACLS certification required through AHA
• NIHSS certification required
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
• Experience with cardiac telemetry, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, and stroke/CVA care required
• Experience with IV starts, blood product administration, and oxygen therapy required
• Experience with rapid-response/code situations required
• Minimum 2 Manager and/or Charge Nurse references from the past 2 years required

• Provide telemetry monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation, and emergency response care for a cardiac, stroke, and post-surgical patient population
• Administer IV therapy, blood products, and oxygen therapy as needed
• Participate in rapid-response and code team activities
• First-time travelers are accepted
• Candidates must reside more than 75 miles from the facility, with 75-100 miles considered case-by-case at the same rate
• Flu vaccine required; medical exemptions considered with a signed doctor's note and completed exemption form, religious exemptions not accepted
• Former permanent employees must wait 2 years from last permanent employment date before returning as a traveler
• Current employees of the Vandalia Health System (including CAMC Health Systems, Mon Health Systems, Davis Medical Center, Broaddus Hospital, Webster Memorial Hospital, Grafton City Hospital, Highland-Clarksburg Hospital, and Minnie Hamilton Health System) are not eligible for travel contracts within the system
