Chief Hydrogeologist – Nevada Gold Mines

We are seeking an experienced Chief Hydrogeologist to work with site and technical teams to collect, analyze, interpret and apply hydrogeologic data. The role supports dewatering cost and timeline communication, water management planning, and regulatory compliance across Nevada’s mining operations.

• Interpret groundwater and surface water data, climate data, drainage delineation, flood control, and water management and conservation.
• Compile planning and design analyses and make recommendations on hydrogeologic issues such as dewatering, porewater depression, and excess mine water management.
• Prepare comprehensive reports on groundwater and surface water resources.
• Develop practical and novel water management plans and support implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of performance.
• Execute advanced technical hydrogeologic analyses and recommend strategic operational and closure actions.
• Work with site and technical teams to ensure all required hydrogeologic data is collected, compiled, analyzed, interpreted, and applied for accurate dewatering cost and timeline communication.
• Review modeling, mine design and dewatering plans from a hydrogeologic perspective, identifying risks and opportunities.
• Maintain ongoing communication and cooperation with site operational and technical teams to optimize dewatering and water management plans.
• Manage the development and administration of supporting consultant contracts, including use of computer models for hydrogeologic evaluations.
• liaison with federal, state, and local stakeholders to develop and communicate monitoring results, modeling results, and mitigation plans.

• Bachelor’s degree in hydrology, hydrogeology, geology, mining, civil engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum ten (10) years of experience in the mining industry (preferred).
• Familiarity with water well systems, groundwater hydraulics, and aquifer testing.
• Knowledge of advanced principles and practices in hydrogeology and hydrology.
• Knowledge of regulatory constraints related to water management activities (preferred).
