Position: Elko - Manager, Capital & Growth Procurement

Overview

Elko — Manager, Capital & Growth Procurement. You will play a critical role in enabling Nevada Gold Mines’ largest and most complex projects by leading the sourcing and procurement of specialized engineering and capital equipment—ensuring technically compliant solutions are delivered safely, on time, and within budget.

Responsibilities
  • Manage Supply Chain partners for sustaining and capital projects, including quality, expediting, and logistics activities
  • Ensure sourcing and procurement activities are delivered in a timely and cost-effective manner in alignment with Nevada Gold Mines goals, values, and standards
  • Ensure all Supply Chain activities comply with applicable legislation, regulations, company policies, and environmental and social responsibility standards
  • Review contractor orders for high-value and high-volume items to improve pricing, lead time, quality, and commercial terms
  • Conduct supplier site visits and receiving warehouse inspections to ensure quality control of manufactured goods
  • Manage expediting activities, monitor manufacturing and delivery progress, and analyze contractor reports
  • Provide manufacturing status updates to support progress payment approvals
  • Plan and coordinate logistics activities, including shipping, freight consolidation, and packaging optimization
  • Clarify technical specifications with Supply Chain partners for construction activities handled directly by Nevada Gold Mines
  • Plan supply strategies to meet project schedules and budget objectives
  • Develop internal site capabilities for one-off engineering purchases and formalize expediting and quality assurance processes
  • Manage change control for technical items, ensuring appropriate technical and commercial justification and effective run-out plans in coordination with the Mine Supply and Commercial Manager
  • Identify cost-saving opportunities through improved packaging, route optimization, and rate negotiations
  • Support the transition of capital supply to operations through collaboration with project and operations teams to ensure continuity of supply
  • Ensure supplier approvals align with group sourcing and procurement strategies in partnership with the Central Sourcing Lead
  • Develop the skills and capabilities of direct and indirect reports through performance management, feedback, mentoring, and career guidance
  • Act as a champion and mentor for all resources within the Supply Chain organization
  • Communicate effectively and professionally with management, coworkers, vendors, contractors, and other stakeholders
  • Deliver clear, concise information across multiple communication channels
  • Plan and prioritize work effectively to meet deadlines and project requirements
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, Supply Chain, Accounting, or a related field, or equivalent experience
  • Minimum 7 years of progressive Supply Chain experience, including team leadership and direct reports required
  • Internationally recognized professional Supply Chain qualification preferred
  • Mining industry experience preferred
  • Strong commercial and contract negotiation background
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings
  • Understanding of risks associated with construction and capital projects
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Visio) and enterprise-level software systems
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
