Job Summary: We are seeking a proactive, technically skilled, and detail-oriented Project Accountant to manage the full lifecycle of project financials—from setup to closeout. This role will track project costs, maintain WIP schedules, manage change orders in Acumatica, review credit card transactions, prepare budgets and forecasts, and support project administrators with training and guidance. The ideal candidate brings strong ERP experience, cross-functional communication skills, and a data-driven mindset, ensuring accurate financial data and actionable insights for project and executive teams.
This is an exempt, salary position reporting directly to the Corporate Controller.

- Project Financial Oversight & WIP Management:
Maintain and update WIP schedules, ensure accurate revenue recognition, analyze margin trends, cost-to-complete, and project closeout adjustments, and prepare journal entries for project accruals and cost corrections. - ERP Project Module Maintenance:
Maintain project records and hierarchies in the ERP system (e.g., phase codes, billing terms, budget categories), track and approve change orders in Acumatica, and ensure system integrity for real-time visibility. - Credit Card Review & Approvals:
Review and approve corporate and project-related credit card transactions to ensure accuracy and compliance. - Financial Statement & Budget Preparation:
Assist with month‑end and year‑end close processes, reconcile project accounts, consolidate project data for reporting and audits, and support preparation of annual and mid‑year project budgets. - Collaborate with project managers, project administrators, and finance teams to ensure accurate reporting and compliance with company policies.
- Financial Statement Review and presentation.
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- 3+ years of experience in project or cost accounting.
- Strong understanding of WIP, percentage‑of‑completion accounting, and project budgeting.
- ERP system experience (e.g., Acumatica, SAP, Oracle, Net Suite, Viewpoint, or similar).
- Intermediate to advanced Excel and Power BI skills.
- Industry experience in construction, engineering, industrial services, or capital equipment projects.
- Familiarity with GAAP and project audit compliance.
- Strong grasp of cost accounting and value stream reporting.
- Analytical thinker with strong attention to detail and data accuracy.
- Confident communicator able to train and guide non‑financial team members.
- Organized and responsive with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Team‑oriented with a continuous improvement mindset.
