- Provide best-in-class guest service: promptly greet guests; respond to guest questions/concerns quickly, effectively, and courteously; assist guests with meeting their video gaming needs; inform guests of special promotions; recommend additional items as appropriate; apply all selling behaviors during every transaction and thank every guest for shopping at Game Stop; prioritize guests over tasks and circulate throughout the store.
- Support the total shopping environment, including visual and operational elements, current sales initiatives, and the guest relationships that lead to sales and repeat business.
- Process guest purchases/return transactions using the Point-of-Sale (POS) system accurately, including handling money, providing receipts, and delivering top-notch guest service.
- Respond to guest comments or questions in person or on the phone; escalate issues to the Store Manager when appropriate.
- Promote Game Stop s guest benefits, such as new title reservations, trade-in programs, and Pro Rewards guest loyalty program.
- Assist the Store Manager with setting guest service expectations and training store associates in policies, procedures, and guidelines.
- Observe associate performance and provide timely feedback in partnership with the Store Manager; address unsatisfactory performance as directed.
- Provide recognition and feedback to store associates and document feedback in the HR system in partnership with the Store Manager.
- Ensure onboarding, training, and compliance training are completed prior to opening or closing shifts; ensure associates know policies, inventory control, loss prevention, safety, financial protocol, and ethics.
- Schedule store associates, manage breaks and meals, and supervise staffing to maintain high levels of guest service.
- Approve payroll, enter paid time off, and verify compensation for time worked.
- Maintain store cleanliness, organization, and merchandising per guidelines; ensure fixtures and equipment are in working order.
- Fulfill Omni-Channel orders daily.
- Protect company assets through inventory control and loss prevention; inspect packages at closing or shift end as appropriate; communicate concerns to the Store Manager.
- Support meeting and exceeding sales, profit, and shrink goals and complete required admin and operational duties.
- Perform inventory counts, restock merchandise, and organize stock for visibility and accessibility.
- Balance and reconcile daily transactions; complete closeout paperwork and ensure sufficient cash and change; make daily bank deposits as needed.
- Verify shipments for discrepancies, conduct inventories, and report variances to the Store Manager/District Manager.
- Process defectives/recalls and stock pulls accurately with proper labeling and packing lists.
- Maintain associate and guest safety; address hazardous situations and report injuries per guidelines.
- Maintain store records/files and ensure manuals are up to date.
- Supervise and delegate tasks to Sales Associates and Retail Keyholders in the Store Manager s absence.
- Adhere to Game Stop policies and the Code of Standards, Ethics & Conduct; follow opening and closing procedures.
- Must provide proof of identity and eligibility to work in the United States.
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; associate s or bachelor s degree in business, marketing, merchandising, or related field preferred.
