Key Account Specialist –
ICAT Logistics
To facilitate the interaction between operations and sales and ensure client needs are met 100% of the time, the Key Account Specialist will manage specified customer accounts for cradle‑to‑grave transportation work, including scheduling, dispatching, planning, tracking and communication, under minimal guidance from the direct supervisor.
Responsibilities- Oversee client inquiries via phone, email or other means and track acknowledgement and response quality to key clients.
- Handle exceptions and internal escalations as needed.
- Respond to or delegate non‑sales client inquiries (outside of general tracking or quotes).
- Identify resource efficiencies (e.g., client email groups/distribution groups) and compile relevant marketing assets for business development efforts.
- Track key account news to identify engagement and/or growth opportunities.
- Work across departments to generate metrics and reports for key accounts as required.
- Provide support to the sales team as needed.
- Create accurate order input by gathering all relevant information.
- Effectively route packages based on customer specifications.
- Track and monitor all shipments, updating at each step and noting setbacks such as delays, cancellations or field damage.
- Notify responsible parties of special services requests.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements to enhance service quality.
- Arrange, transport and deliver consignments for external and internal clients.
- Utilize vendors and partners to provide timely, professional and cost‑effective solutions.
- Use the TMS and/or WMS effectively and diligently.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Hourly Rate Range: $28.00 – $33.65
Requirements- High school diploma or equivalent (required).
- 2+ years’ experience in logistics and/or freight forwarding operations and account management, or equivalent education and experience.
- Familiarity with governmental compliance agencies such as the TSA and DOT.
- Customer service experience.
- Intermediate skills with Microsoft Office products (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint).
- Problem‑solving skills.
- Ability to work in a time‑sensitive environment.
- Desire and drive to learn and grow.
- Highly motivated team player with an outgoing and positive work attitude.
- Well organized; able to plan and set priorities for implementation.
- Flexible as priorities shift.
- Demonstrated ability to work in a client‑centric environment.
- Ability to relate to and interact across a variety of settings and with a broad and diverse workforce.
- Outstanding communication skills – excellent verbal and written with an emphasis on listening.
- Understanding and responsiveness to situations requiring a sense of urgency.
