Alphabets Montessori School is seeking a passionate and qualified Lead Montessori Teacher for our Primary (3–6) classroom. The Lead Teacher will create a prepared Montessori environment that supports the social, emotional, and academic development of children ages 3–6 while meeting Maryland child care licensing standards.
ResponsibilitiesImplement an authentic Montessori curriculum for children ages 3–6
Prepare and maintain a structured, engaging Montessori classroom environment
Observe, document, and assess each child’s developmental progress
Develop individualized learning plans based on observation and assessment
Guide children’s behavior using positive guidance and Montessori principles
Supervise and mentor assistant teachers and classroom support staff
Maintain consistent communication with families regarding student progress
Ensure health, safety, and supervision standards are met at all times
Complete lesson plans, progress reports, and required classroom documentation
Participate in staff meetings, professional development, and program improvement initiatives
Support smooth transitions for children entering and exiting the Primary program
QualificationsAssociate’s Degree or higher in Early Childhood Education or related field
Meets Maryland Lead Teacher qualification requirements
Montessori Certification (AMI, AMS, or equivalent) preferred
Minimum 1–2 years of classroom experience with children ages 3–6 preferred
Current CPR/First Aid certification or willingness to obtain
Must pass background check and health clearance as required by Maryland licensing
