Electric Power Generation; Epg Mechanic Technician Advisor

Overview

Carter Machinery Company, the authorized Caterpillar dealer serving Virginia, West Virginia, Maryland, Delaware and Washington D.C., is hiring an Electric Power Generation (EPG) Mechanic Technician Advisor in Elkridge, Maryland. The EPG Mechanic Technician Advisor provides technical assistance to other technicians in a positive and efficient manner, promotes the highest level of quality, safety, customer satisfaction and teamwork, and plays an active role in the upfit process.

The role works closely with other technicians to diagnose and repair complete electric power generation systems. Detailed completion of all assignments including test results and other required reports is essential. Minimum qualifications include a minimum of three years’ experience with Power Generation equipment and operation; a high school diploma or GED is required.

Note: This position includes a $1,500 sign-on bonus for new hires, payable after 90 days of employment.

• Provide technical assistance to other technicians in a positive and efficient manner.
• Diagnose and repair complete electric power generation systems in collaboration with other technicians.
• Complete detailed assignments including test results and required reports.
• Support upfit processes and communicate effectively with team members and customers.

• Prepare and document work orders, parts lists, and time cards accurately and in a timely manner.

• Minimum of three years’ experience with Power Generation equipment and operation.
• High school diploma or GED required.
• Strong troubleshooting skills and mechanical aptitude; ability to diagnose and repair equipment.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to produce service reports and documentation.
• Proficient with computers, Microsoft Office and service software; able to complete service reports and provide pertinent details for work orders.
• Ability to operate heavy machinery on occasion; good customer relations skills.
• Self-starter with the ability to work with limited supervision; able to work shifts including days, nights and/or weekends to meet customer needs.
• Ability to work under stress or in emergencies and to establish and maintain effective working relationships and manage time effectively.

Starting Compensation Range: $36.86 – $45.54 per hour

Actual base pay may vary based on factors such as experience, skills, qualifications, education, geographic location, and other business needs. Total compensation may include participation in performance-based incentive programs.
