Lactation Consultant Instructor – Aeroflow Health
Aeroflow Health is a leader in home health products and equipment, prioritizing customers, community, and employees. We are seeking an experienced Lactation Consultant Instructor to join our Mom and Baby Education Provider Group.
Location & ShiftLocation: Maryland, Virginia, or Washington, DC
Shift: Regularly available evenings and weekends; schedules set monthly.
About the RoleAs a work‑from‑home instructor, you will provide educational support to pregnant and postpartum mothers. Your responsibilities include teaching virtual classes, offering individualized care, and contributing to our educational content.
What You’ll Do- Teach and facilitate classes on a broad range of topics in the pregnancy and postpartum period.
- See patients for one‑on‑one appointments while providing high‑quality clinical care.
- Chart visits and maintain accurate records per payer requirements and Aeroflow policies.
- Support and advocate for normal physiologic maternal‑infant processes.
- Provide evidence‑based clinical information following Academy of Breastfeeding Medicine Protocols and/or Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics’ Code of Ethics.
- Attend team and departmental administrative and clinical meetings.
- Be a trusted resource and advocate for teamwork and strong working relationships.
- Enhance professional development through assigned clinical courses, workshops, and exams; stay abreast of current literature.
- Keep provider licenses and/or certifications and continuing education up‑to‑date.
- Follow company handbook and departmental policies.
- Maintain HIPAA confidentiality.
- Assume individual responsibility for compliance with laws, regulations, and policies.
- Compliance is a required employment condition and an element of job performance.
- Assist with writing clinical documentation as requested by content, marketing, or leadership teams.
- Lead and create team trainings.
- Work on social media projects and moderate our Facebook group.
- Engage in practice case study meetings.
- Attend professional conferences on behalf of the company.
- Perform other clinical and administrative duties as assigned.
- Prior Experience: Experience in lactation support (internship, clinical rotation, or supervised practice) preferred; ideal for newly certified CLCs seeking mentorship.
- Communication: Proactively seek clarification; deliver presentations and public speaking during online slideshows.
- Time Management: Demonstrate ability to assess circumstances, problem‑solve, pivot activities, and work independently or in a team.
- Technological Agility: Proficient with Zoom, Google Meets, and Google Workspace; 50 WPM typing speed.
- Organizational Skills: Prioritize and manage multiple tasks effectively in a fast‑paced environment.
- Interpersonal Skills: Collaborate effectively with company employees and managers.
- Must have a lactation IBCLC certification and/or RN license (with state license if applicable).
- Must have or be willing to obtain CPR certification.
- Must be willing to obtain licensure in all states requested by Aeroflow; the company will assist financially and administratively.
- Must live in Maryland, Virginia, or DC.
- Must have strong internet speed: minimum 30 Mbps upload (wired) or 45 Mbps (wireless).
- Must have a private, professional work environment with a door that can be closed and approved two weeks before patient‑facing encounters.
- Must be able to work during all work hours in your home state.
- Stellar written and verbal communication.
- Proficiency in Google Suite, Microsoft Office, and Zoom.
