Transport Refrigeration Tech

Thermo King Chesapeake has an immediate opening for Transport Refrigeration Techs at our Elkridge facility. We are looking for experienced and or entry level techs to work in our service shop and also from mobile service trucks. Strong technical/mechanical background is a must. Experience with diesel engines and HVAC a plus. We will train the right individual! Factory training is company sponsored and provided by us after the required probationary period is completed.

We are looking for techs that are enthusiastic about learning and excelling in the field.

Position is full time with benefits. Overtime available especially during summer months. Salary based on experience from entry level to Master tech. Healthcare, 401k, Dental, Vacation offered to all full time employees.

• Responsible for troubleshooting, maintenance and repair of refrigeration units and auxiliary power units.
• Diagnose, repair, adjust, and modify all components.
• Positive interface with service writers, leadership team, parts department, drivers, vendors and customers.
• Keep paper work updated and handed in upon completion.
• Meet requirements for certifications.
• Communicate effectively with customers.
• Work safely and follow company safety standards.
• Maintain a high standard of cleanliness.
• Perform various other duties as assigned by supervisor.
• Able to abide by and enforce the policies and procedures of Thermo King Sales & Service.

• High School Diploma or equivalent (Technical degree or certification a plus).
• Must have your own set of general tools.
• Ability to work with diagnostic computers for troubleshooting and repairs.
• Use computers for web based training.
• Must be physically able to lift and work with no restrictions.
• Solid written & communication skills.
• Reliable.
• Must have a clean driving record, and pass drug screening before employment.
• Ability to work independently in a field service environment, while displaying a professional and confident relationship with the customer.
