This posting describes an opportunity under the Northrop Grumman Military Internship Program (NG-MIP) and the DoD Skill Bridge framework. The program is open to transitioning service members during their last 6 months of service, for up to 180 days. Skill Bridge participants are not compensated by Northrop Grumman and continue to receive military compensation and benefits as Active-duty service members.
Responsibilities- Primary job responsibilities of an OPM include managing and maintaining day-to-day interfaces and communications between the PMO, Manufacturing, Testing, Manufacturing Planning & Scheduling, Mission Assurance, Supply Chain, Engineering, and Shipping
- Facilitate internal meetings to support production, testing, and problem resolutions in support of program needs
- Ensure successful execution of the operations/manufacturing scope of the program’s SOW, achieving targeted cost and schedule requirements
- Lead manufacturing planning and readiness efforts
- Act as the focal point for manufacturing input into proposals to capture new business
- Support bill of materials (BOM) development on development programs
- Support continuous improvement by identifying opportunities and executing improvement plans
- Communicate relevant manufacturing metrics to the PMO
- Act as Cost Account Manager (CAM) for manufacturing on a program
- Program closeout support and hardware disposition
This job may be filled as an OPM (Level
2) or a Principal OPM (Level
3) based on the qualifications below.
Basic Qualifications for a Level 2 - OPM:
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED) with at least 6 years of project management relevant experience, or a bachelor’s degree with 2 years of relevant experience, or 0 years with a master’s degree
- Experience in leadership and project management
- Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD U.S. Secret Clearance (US citizenship required)
- Experience with Costpoint, SAP or other ERP systems and MS Office (Excel, Word, Project, PowerPoint)
- Meets DoD Skill Bridge requirements per DODI 1322.29
Basic Qualifications for a Level 3 - Principal OPM:
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED) with at least 9 years of project management relevant experience, or a bachelor’s degree with 5 years of relevant experience, or 3 years with a master’s degree
- Experience in leadership and project management
- Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD U.S. Secret Clearance (US citizenship required)
- Experience with Costpoint, SAP or other ERP systems and MS Office (Excel, Word, Project, PowerPoint)
- Meets DoD Skill Bridge requirements per DODI 1322.29
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Engineering or Business Management
- Experience with cost, schedule, project leadership, and/or process improvement
- Manufacturing or Engineering experience
- Experience with baselines of estimates, shop order creation, and EVMS
- Active DoD U.S. Secret clearance

Northrop Grumman considers factors such as scope and responsibilities, candidate experience, education, skills, and market conditions when determining offers.
