Join Our Team as a Food Service Assistant

• Status: Casual (8 hours/week)
• Schedule: Evening shifts, 4:00 PM – 7:30 PM on weekdays and weekends required
• Location: Wilmington, DE

• Prepare and serve meals for patients and cafeteria guests with accuracy and attention to dietary needs
• Deliver meal trays and nourishment promptly, ensuring excellent customer service
• Maintain food safety standards, proper storage, and sanitation procedures
• Operate dishwashing and food service equipment safely and efficiently
• Communicate effectively with patients, nursing staff, and team members

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• Previous food service experience preferred (6 months or more)
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• Ability to follow instructions and work independently
• Commitment to safety, cleanliness, and infection control

• Must be able to lift, push, pull, reach, and stand for extended periods
• Exposure to infectious materials, cleaning chemicals, and temperature variations
• Must pass a physical exam and be drug‑free

This position has a starting rate of $17.32 per hour, regardless of prior experience. After six months of continuous employment, the hourly rate will automatically increase to $20.34 per hour. After one year of continuous employment, the hourly rate will automatically increase to $21.34 per hour.

This pay rate/range represents Christiana Care’s good faith and reasonable estimate of compensation at the time of posting. The actual salary within this range offered to a successful candidate will depend on individual factors including skills, relevant experience, and qualifications as they relate to specific job requirements.
