An Assistant Manager with shipping experience is required for a permanent, full-time role in Elland. Sayjo Recruitment Ltd are acting on behalf of their client, a successful distributor offering unique products through complex channels globally. As an Assistant Manager, you will ensure import, export and letters of credit are managed, alongside customer communications and administration.
This role will offer a clear career path into management as part of a succession plan for a valued member of staff.
Role & Responsibilities:
* Liaising with Suppliers and Customers – ensuring real time communications on shipping, stock and customs.
* Dealing with stock and sales enquiries including the processing of complex orders and product details.
* Managing pricing enquiries and updates.
* Administration of accurate and timely customs documentation, declaration forms and licence forms, ensuring successful passing of custom clearance.
* Forward production planning and communication throughout to stakeholders.
* Processing and ownership of shipment and freight bookings for import and exports.
* Producing Letters of Credit. (training can be provided)
* Stock purchasing and stock control.
* Control of Bonded Warehouse.
* Monthly stock checks / Annual stock taking.
* Preparing and sending customer invoices.
* Prepare monthly sales figures / report.
* Year-end reports for Finance Director.
* General admin jobs and office duties.

* Organised, methodical and has good attention to detail.
* Previous experience of import and export is essential for this role.
Hours of Work:
8.30 – 5.15pm Mon to Thurs, 8.30am – 4.30pm Fri with 1 hour lunch each break each day.
