The Department of Natural Resources (DNR) has an exciting opportunity within our Southeast Region for a Leasing Specialist, Natural Resource Specialist 2 (NRS2). This role is the main point of contact for the region’s agriculture and non‑agriculture leases and lease‑related documents, data, and financial records. The position works closely with region leasing staff, reviewing leases, conducting lease audits, and providing input to ensure lease requirements and processes are followed.
It offers guidance, consultation, and expertise in the maintenance, training, and troubleshooting of the agency’s data management systems (Natur
E/LAMS) as it pertains to leasing. The successful candidate will oversee lease finance account management—inputting lease financial data, setting up payment schedules, generating invoices, tracking revenue, and tracking payments—while serving as a designee for reporting, research, individual lease analysis, and consultative services for lease finances.
- Oversee administration of agreements, leases, and related documentation for Southeast Region agriculture leases, telecommunications leases, special use leases, and land use licenses; coordinate reporting, research, and individual lease analysis; consult with field staff on lease finances.
- Lead the region’s use of the Natur
E/LAMS data management system for program leases and agreements; provide training, knowledge, and support to the team. - Manage lease revenue tracking and ensure accurate and complete finance account management independently.
- Act as the first point of contact for public inquiries regarding the program, leases, opportunities, finances, and related matters.
- College degree majoring in natural resources, agriculture, range management, or a related field; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Experience with contracts and/or legal documents.
- Working knowledge of legal descriptions and map interpretation.
- Experience managing large electronic databases.
- Ability to prioritize workloads and meet deliverables on multiple projects with strict and competing deadlines.
- Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills; ability to resolve conflicts, write effectively, and communicate with diverse groups.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Familiarity with RCWs and WACs.
- Proficiency with word processing, spreadsheet, presentation, and other professional software.
