The registered nurse (RN) is responsible for assessing, diagnosing, planning, implementing and evaluating delivery of care. The RN is accountable for direct patient care and for supervising the care provided by professional and ancillary personnel. The RN assesses and plans for the educational needs of patients and families that will contribute to the maintenance or restoration of health status on discharge.

As a member of the health team, the RN implements the nursing plan, coordinates with the medical plan and works collaboratively with the interdisciplinary team. Professionalism is demonstrated by quality of care, leadership and continued professional growth. Quality assurance and process improvement initiatives are implemented with the nursing team. An RN may be requested to float to other departments as patient needs dictate.

• This position is eligible for participation in the FBP residency program for new graduate nurses or registered nurses who are New to the specialty of Obstetrics

• Structured orientation and preceptorship with experienced OB nurses.
• Progressive clinical skill development and hands‑on training.
• Didactic learning sessions through AWHONN focused on perinatal, intrapartum, and postpartum care.
• Ongoing mentorship and professional support during the transition to independent practice.

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program & currently licensed in Washington.
• Current BLS for Healthcare Providers card (maintenance required).
• NRP within 6 months of hire (maintenance required).
• STABLE within 6 months of hire (maintenance required every two years).
• ACLS within 12 months of hire (maintenance required).
• AWHONN Fetal Monitoring Intermediate Course or higher within 6 months of hire (maintenance required every two years).
• C‑EFM (maintenance required every three years).

• One to two years of previous clinical experience in appropriate nursing area.
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
• One year of experience in Obstetrics.

Wage: Starts at $41.39/hour and goes up to $75.91/hour. Actual wage will be based on years of applicable experience. Shift differentials:
Evenings (3p‑11p) = $3.00/hour, Nights (11p‑7a) = $4.50/hour, Weekends = $3.50/hour.

FTE: 0.9 (36 hours/week)
