Join the Fred Meyer team as a STORE/NIGHT CLERK. This role involves creating an outstanding customer experience through exceptional service, maintaining a safe and clean environment, assisting the department manager in meeting sales and profit goals, and upholding quality assurance standards.
Base pay range: $16.91/hr - $19.71/hr
Responsibilities- Assist the department manager to reach sales and profit goals established for the department.

- Check product quality to ensure freshness; review sell-by dates and take appropriate action.
- Label, stock and inventory department merchandise; provide customers with fresh products that they have ordered.
- Report product ordering/shipping discrepancies to the department manager.
- Display a positive attitude and stay current with present, future, seasonal and special ads.
- Adhere to all food safety regulations and guidelines, ensuring proper temperatures in cases and coolers are maintained and temperature logs are kept.
- Reinforce safety programs by complying with safety procedures, identifying unsafe conditions and notifying store management.
- Practice preventive maintenance by inspecting equipment and notifying appropriate department or store manager of any items in need of repair.
- Notify management of customer or employee accidents and report all safety risks/issues and illegal activity, including robbery, theft or fraud.
- Perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation.
- Ability to handle stressful situations.
- Knowledge of basic math (counting, addition, and subtraction).
- Effective communication skills.
- Any retail experience.
- Second language proficiency (speaking, reading and/or writing) to promote trust and respect among associates.
- Ability to create an environment that enables customers to feel welcome, important and appreciated by answering questions regarding products sold within the department and throughout the store.
- Knowledge of products sold within the department and ability to respond to questions and make suggestions.
- Recommend grocery items to customers to ensure they get the products they want and need; inform customers of grocery specials.
