Humanities Teacher – Specialist Provision

Teacher Active are delighted to be supporting a specialist education provision in the Ellesmere Port area who are seeking a skilled Humanities Teacher to join their dedicated staff team.
The provision offers tailored education to secondary-aged pupils who require additional support to fully access learning. Many students have social, emotional and mental health needs, communication differences, or anxiety-related barriers to education. Staff work closely together to create a nurturing, therapeutic environment, with small class sizes, individualised programmes, and a strong pastoral focus. The team are committed to helping young people develop confidence, resilience and a love of learning.
We are looking for a passionate Humanities Teacher who can deliver engaging lessons across subjects such as History, Geography and RE, and who can adapt learning to meet a range of individual needs. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting pupils who benefit from structure, consistency and a relationship-led approach.
The role will involve:
Teaching Humanities subjects across KS3 and KS4
Planning and delivering differentiated lessons that engage and inspire
Using creative approaches to support learning and progress
Working collaboratively with support staff and pastoral teams
Encouraging positive behaviour, motivation and classroom engagement
Supporting learners to achieve personal and academic goals
The ideal candidate will:
Hold QTS/QTLS (ECTs welcomed with relevant experience)
Have proven experience working with young people who have additional learning or SEMH needs – this is essential
Be patient, resilient and committed to inclusive teaching
Have excellent behaviour management and communication skills
Be enthusiastic about developing a broad and engaging curriculum
