SEN Teaching Assistant

Reed Education are currently recruiting for an SEN Teaching Assistant to join a specialist SEN school in Ellesmere Port from September on a full-time, long-term basis.

This is a well-established SEMH specialist school supporting secondary aged pupils with social, emotional and mental health needs.

The Role

You will be working with pupils in Years 7-11, supporting a range of additional needs, particularly SEMH.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Providing 1:1 and small group support
  • Supporting behaviour and emotional regulation
  • Assisting with tailored learning activities
  • Building strong, positive relationships with pupils
  • Working closely with teachers and pastoral teams
What We're Looking For
  • Previous experience working with children or young people (essential)
  • Experience in an SEMH setting is highly desirable, but not essential
  • A calm, resilient and patient approach
  • Strong behaviour management skills
  • A genuine passion for supporting young people with additional needs
