Job Description
We have an exciting opportunity for a Condition Monitoring Engineer reporting to the Lead Condition Monitoring Engineer. As the Condition Monitoring Engineer, you will leverage your specialist knowledge to develop, operate, and enhance Condition Monitoring services for John Crane clients. This role is based on-site at a customer facility, where the engineer will directly coordinate, schedule, and participate in activities to comply with the established partnership agreement.
Key responsibilities include the collection, analysis, and reporting of Condition Monitoring data. The engineer will be expected to continually develop their expertise in this field, with John Crane providing comprehensive training and support for ongoing professional growth.
This role is based from one of our field offices at Stanlow Refinery, working Monday to Friday 8am to 4pm.
Duties & Responsibilities (not limited to)- Accurately collect and analyse a wide range of vibration measurements from rotating assets.
- Collect and compile thermographic images of key static equipment.
- Collect and analyze data specifically from reciprocating compressors.
- Work effectively both independently on customer sites and collaboratively within a team.
- Generate detailed reports on equipment condition based on collected data.
- Manage and maintain positive customer relationships.
- Adhere strictly to local and company Health & Safety (H&S) requirements.
- Provide flexible support as part of a team rota delivering 24-hour site coverage via a call-out system.
- Participate in a team-based shift system during planned customer shutdowns and turnaround events, which occur infrequently and are scheduled well in advance.
- Have a good level of fitness to perform role tasks, including lifting, carrying, and working in diverse field conditions.
- Safely ascend and descend ladders, scaffolds, and stairs, work in restricted spaces and near loud equipment.
- Utilise a broad range of diagnostic techniques during machine analysis and route cause investigations. Report condition analysis results along with corrective maintenance recommendations.
- Serve as the primary client interface for on-site delivery of Condition Monitoring services.
- Continuously improve condition monitoring programs through defined review processes in collaboration with the Lead CM Engineer.
- Perform dynamic risk assessments to ensure safe and effective work practices.
- Qualified to ISO 18436-2 Vibration Analysis Category 2.
- Engineering degree or equivalent experience.
- Vibration monitoring and analysis knowledge.
- Thermography knowledge.
- Rotating and reciprocating equipment knowledge.
- UK driving license.
- Ability to work at heights, outdoors and in all weather conditions.
- Must be proficient in the usage of office and web-based software.
