Accounts Payable Supervisor | Ellesmere Port | £40, | Permanent, hybrid working
We're recruiting for a newly created Accounts Payable Supervisor position within a growing multi-entity organisation. This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious finance professional to take ownership of the purchase-to-pay cycle across several businesses while helping drive efficiencies, controls and continuous improvement.
Working closely with senior finance leadership, you'll play a key role in ensuring accurate transactional processing, maintaining strong supplier relationships, managing cash flow activities and supporting the wider finance function.
As Accounts Payable Supervisor, you'll be responsible for overseeing the entire procurement and accounts payable process across the group, ensuring robust controls, accurate processing and excellent stakeholder engagement.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading, coaching and developing a small transactional finance team
- Managing the end-to-end purchase ledger process across multiple entities
- Ensuring supplier invoices are processed accurately and efficiently
- Reviewing and overseeing supplier statement reconciliations
- Managing purchase orders, expenses and company card processes
- Maintaining strong supplier relationships and resolving queries
- Monitoring aged creditors and supporting cash flow management
- Leading payment runs, including payroll-related payments
- Performing bank reconciliations and treasury administration
- Ensuring compliance with VAT, tax and internal approval processes
- Supporting audits and providing key information to external stakeholders
- Driving process improvements, automation initiatives and operational efficiencies
For this role, we are looking for someone who has:
- Significant experience within accounts payable / purchase to pay processes
- Experience working within a multi-site or multi-entity business environment
- Previous supervisory, team leadership or management experience
- Strong understanding of financial controls and transactional finance processes
- Advanced Excel skills
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- A proactive, solutions-focused approach
- The ability to work independently while managing competing priorities
