Job Description & How to Apply Below
You'll have the opportunity to build the financial foundations of a growing manufacturing operation, rather than inherit someone else's processes. As Finance Manager, you'll take ownership of the numbers from construction and commissioning through to full production, with direct exposure to the CEO, board and investors.
This is a senior, hands-on appointment where you'll shape systems, controls and reporting while influencing commercial decisions across a capital-intensive operation. As the group grows, there is also a defined development path towards a CFO position.
What's in it for you- Salary of £65,000 - £75,000 per annum
- Direct access to the CEO, Plant Director and board
- Genuine ownership of building the company's in-house financial function
- Defined development path towards a future CFO position
- Exposure to major capital projects, commissioning and operational manufacturing
- Opportunity to influence commercial decisions, investment reporting and future growth
- Produce monthly management accounts, variance analysis, cash forecasts and board reporting, giving senior stakeholders clear visibility of performance
- Control capital expenditure across the plant build, including contractor payments, variations, cost-to-complete reporting and contingency
- Build the internal function by implementing accounting systems, month-end processes, payroll, expenses, credit control and appropriate controls
- Own and develop the integrated financial model, providing scenario analysis to support commercial and strategic decisions
- Support fundraising, investor reporting, lender requirements, covenant compliance and due diligence activity
- Oversee VAT, statutory accounts, audit, tax, banking, insurance and relevant regulatory requirements
- Fully qualified ACA, ACCA or CIMA accountant
- Background within manufacturing, industrial or infrastructure environments, ideally with exposure to capital projects or plant commissioning
- Evidence of building or substantially improving an internal financial function, including accounting systems and controls
- Strong Excel and financial modelling capability, including ownership of integrated models suitable for board-level reporting
- Experience covering management accounts, cash forecasting, audit, statutory requirements and senior stakeholder reporting
