To assist in the efficient delivery of the Council Tax and Business Rates Services in line with legislation and Council policy. To maintain a high standard of customer care whilst ensuring collection targets can be achieved.
The job will be working in a fast moving and hard-working team of Revenues and Assessment billing staff. You will be required to deal with and respond to enquiries, either by telephone or via written correspondence in a professional manner and in line with agreed performance targets and standards. You will be carrying out prompt changes to our computer database and updating accounts, making decisions on exemptions, discounts and reliefs in line with the appropriate legislation and regulations.
You will be a flexible and responsible individual who has an extensive clerical background where figure work and accuracy are both important. You will have knowledge of authority debt, Council Tax or Business Rates related legislation. You will have been educated to GCSE level in at least five subjects (at grade C or above) including Mathematics and English, or equivalent.
