Job Description
Location: Aaron Court Nursing Home, 190 Princes Road
Hill Care is looking for a new Maintenance Person to join their team! We are on the lookout for excited and hard‑working employees to help maintain our high standards within the care home environment.
AboutThe Role JOB PURPOSE
To carry out day to day maintenance on the fabric of the building, its services and grounds in order to ensure that the Care Home is maintained in a safe and efficient functional order.
Required Skills, Knowledge and Qualifications- Proven ability to work on own initiative and work as part of a team
- A commitment to a service, which provides support to vulnerable individuals, and which is respectful and according to the individual’s wishes
- Good communication skills, both written and verbal. Ability to communicate effectively with Clients, colleagues, Managers and other persons with a legitimate interest in the service
- Decorating skills
- Basic DIY skills
- Experience of driving
- Proven ability to complete day to day repairs and maintenance to a safe & high standard
- Satisfactory Police Check and check against the DBS List (where applicable)
- Self‑motivation and flexibility
- Commitment to the aims & objectives of the service and of Hill Care Ltd
- Flexible and innovative approach to working
- Knowledge and understanding of issues relating to older people
- Decision‑making skills
- Health and safety at work act understanding
- Experience of working in a care/support setting; ideally within older peoples services
