Are you a driven and experienced Fabrication Workshop Manager looking for an opportunity to lead and optimise a manufacturing operation? Our client has the perfect career opportunity for you if this is a YES. We are looking for a highly motivated and hands-on individual to take full responsibility for the day-to-day management of our production facility, overseeing the manufacture of our specialist range of steel fabrications for their Tier 1 customers.
As a key member of the management team, you will report directly to the Operations Manager and play a pivotal role in ensuring efficiency, quality, and continuous improvement in our production processes.
- Lead and motivate the production team, ensuring targets and deadlines are met.
- Oversee production planning, purchasing, and stock control to maintain smooth operations.
- Manage staff rotas, annual leave, and workforce development.
- Implement effective purchasing strategies to maintain stock availability and cost efficiency.
- Continuously seek improvements in production efficiency and workflow.
- Identify and address non-conformities, reducing errors and waste.
- Ensure quality control throughout the production process, conducting final checks before dispatch.
- Maintain a safe and compliant working environment, adhering to company policies and procedures.
- Support product development by sourcing alternative materials and components for cost and quality optimisation.
- Proven experience in a manufacturing or production management role.
- Strong leadership skills, with the ability to motivate and develop a team.
- Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.
- Hands-on approach with exceptional communication and organisational skills.
- Ability to manage deadlines, stock levels, and production schedules effectively.
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Proficient using AutoCAD. (preferred not essential)
- Competitive salary
- 25 days annual leave + bank holidays
- 40 hrs/wk
- Hours :
- Mon-Thur: 7am-3pm, Fri: 7am-2pm
