Proactive Personnel are currently recruiting for an Assistant Production Co-Ordinator on behalf of a leading manufacturing company. This is an excellent opportunity for an organised and driven individual looking to develop their career within production management.
The Role
Reporting to the Production Co-Ordinator, you will play a key role in supporting the day-to-day running of the manufacturing operation. You will assist with production planning, monitor performance, maintain accurate production data, and ensure that quality, safety, and operational targets are consistently achieved.
Working closely with production teams, maintenance, quality, planning, and warehouse departments, you will help coordinate resources, resolve operational issues, and contribute to the continuous improvement of manufacturing processes.
Key Responsibilities
* Support the coordination of daily production activities to ensure orders are completed safely, efficiently, and on schedule.
* Input and maintain production data, reports, KPIs, and operational records.
* Assist with supervising production staff, providing guidance and support to maximise performance and productivity.
* Ensure compliance with health, safety, environmental, and quality standards at all times.
* Investigate production issues, support root cause analysis, and assist with implementing corrective actions.
* Contribute to continuous improvement projects aimed at reducing waste, improving efficiency, and lowering costs.
* Provide cover for the Production Co-Ordinator during periods of absence when required.
Candidate Requirements
The ideal candidate will have previous experience within a manufacturing or production environment and be confident working in a fast-paced setting. Previous supervisory or team leader experience would be advantageous, although not essential.
You should possess excellent organisational, communication, and problem-solving skills, along with a good understanding of production processes and health and safety requirements. Strong IT skills are essential, including proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and Microsoft Access databases. Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies would be beneficial.
