Veterinary Surgeon – Emergency & Critical Care (Day Role)
Location:
Cheshire West
Do you thrive on the challenge of Emergency and Critical Care but prefer the stability of daytime work? My client is offering a rare opportunity for a Veterinary Surgeon to join a dedicated A+E team in Cheshire West on the edge of the beautiful Wirral.
In this exciting role, you’ll be at the heart of the inpatient and emergency service. From performing urgent procedures yourself to coordinating care with a skilled team, you’ll ensure that every patient receives the highest standard of treatment. With a strong focus on medically biased cases, no two days will ever be the same.
About YouThey are looking for someone who combines technical expertise with compassion. You’ll be confident in handling emergencies, highly organised, and able to communicate calmly and clearly with owners in difficult situations. Whether you’re an experienced vet or someone keen to push their clinical skills further, what matters most is your ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment and your commitment to providing excellent care at affordable costs with no pressure on targets or profit.
WorkingHours
This is a 40-hour position, with a mix of longer and shorter shifts:
- Two 12-hour days (07:00–19:00)
- Two 7-hour shifts (either 07:00–13:00 or 14:00–21:00)
- Weekends on a fair 2 in 9 rotation
This hospital values and supports their people, and provide six weeks’ holiday (including bank holidays), CPD funding, private healthcare, enhanced family leave, and a contributory pension scheme. They also cover your RCVS and VDS fees, and after 12 months you’ll have access to counselling services, including mental health, financial, and life support.
On top of this, you can benefit from staff discounts, a cycle-to-work and E-Car scheme, store discounts and our refer-a-friend bonus.
Why Join UsThis is more than just a veterinary role – it’s a chance to be part of a supportive, purpose-driven organisation that puts patients, clients, and colleagues first. They pride themselves on creating an environment where teamwork, skill, and compassion come together to deliver exceptional care.
If you’re ready for the buzz of ECC without the night shifts, we’d love to hear from you.
