Relief Security Officer

Mitie is seeking security enthusiasts to join our Security Guard teams nationwide for a new project with the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP). This is an opportunity to be part of a professional team that supports communities across the United Kingdom.

• Flexibility to travel; role covers various DWP sites within the Chester region (Chester, Wrexham, Ellesmere Port, Flint, Holywell, Mold).
• Full UK driving licence required.
• Ensure a safe and secure environment for DWP staff, visitors, and property.
• Patrol premises regularly to identify potential security threats.
• Monitor and control access to the building, verifying identification.
• Respond effectively to emergencies or suspicious situations.
• Liaise with local law enforcement and emergency services as needed.
• Provide a high level of customer service and assist staff and visitors with security-related matters.
• Conduct routine security checks and submit incident reports as appropriate.
• Adhere to Mitie and DWP security policies, procedures, and regulations.

• Identify and promptly report Health & Safety hazards on site.
• Stay alert to threats or changes in the work environment and take action to reduce disruption, loss, or damage.
• Use initiative and involve others if a situation appears threatening.
• Maintain professional conduct in challenging situations and with customers.
• Complete accurate, detailed notebook entries after incidents for the Incident Report process.
• Keep to schedules and demonstrate commitment to Mitie and the Client.
• Contact emergency services and the Communications Centre to report incidents.

• Previous Security Experience
• DS Licence Required
• Full UK driving licence required
