LOCATION:

Role will involve working in Sandwell, Walsall, Dudley and Wolverhampton communities; when not working in the community, the role holder will be expected to work from the Head Office in Sandwell JOB TYPE:

WORKING HOURS:

37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm (7.5 hours per day). Some work outside normal office hours may be required JOB OVERVIEW This is a rewarding opportunity for a Domestic Abuse Advocate Educator to combine trauma-informed advocacy with professional training in primary care. Working across GP practices and community services, the Domestic Abuse Advocate Educator will build trusted partnerships, support referrals and help strengthen early identification of abuse.

The Domestic Abuse Advocate Educator will provide practical and emotional support, risk assessment and safety planning while contributing to accurate reporting and service outcomes. DUTIES Your duties as the Domestic Abuse Advocate Educator include:
Training Delivery and Consultancy:
Deliver domestic abuse training to participating GP practices, provide ongoing consultancy and support evaluation GP Practice Partnerships:
Build relationships with practice teams and healthcare professionals, attend meetings and encourage safe identification and referral Referral and Case Management:
Monitor referrals, maintain records and provide practical and emotional support by telephone and face to face Risk Assessment and Safeguarding:
Assess and review needs and risk, develop safety plans and make appropriate safeguarding, IDVA or MARAC referrals Advocacy and Support:
Help survivors understand their rights and options relating to safety, housing, legal and welfare matters Multi-agency Working:
Liaise with internal and external services, represent clients appropriately and support coordinated responses Data, Reporting and Quality:
Contribute to outcome data, reports, service evaluation, quality assurance and records CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS ESSENTIAL

Experience of needs and risk assessment and supporting people experiencing domestic violence and abuse

Experience of complex casework involving vulnerable adults and children, safeguarding, trauma and crisis intervention

Experience of partnership working, multi-agency meetings and responding to actions including MARAC

Experience of arranging, delivering and reviewing training for professionals Knowledge of domestic abuse dynamics, risk assessment, safety planning, safeguarding legislation and the Violence Against Women and Girls context Strong verbal and written communication, report writing, presentation and Microsoft Office and Teams skills Full driving licence with willingness to use own vehicle Due to an Occupational…
