Overview
Dental Front Desk Receptionist/ Insurance Specialist: For a dental specialist practice in Howard County, MD. We are seeking an experienced front desk and insurance specialist with 2-3 years in the dental field, knowledge of scheduling, dental software, and insurance plans.
We care about our employees and provide the training needed to support you in a specialist office. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, be friendly and helpful to our staff and patients. You will manage patient appointments and maintain professional standards to ensure smooth interactions between doctors, staff and patients. Strong organizational skills and the ability to handle high-paced days are required.
Responsibilities- Field Inbound Communications: Answering phones and managing calls for efficient scheduling, reminding patients of appointments, sending faxes, and completing admin duties as needed.
- Patient Check-In and Check-Out: Ensure the schedule is consistently booked and accurate.
- Treatment Plans & Financing: Discuss treatment plans with patients and inform them of financing options provided in office.
- Billing & Insurance Processing: Verify insurance, obtain preauthorizations, process claims, address denials, and submit in a timely manner according to guidelines.
- Copayments: Calculate and collect copayments.
- Record Management: Maintain patient records in accordance with HIPAA rules and data storage requirements.
- Communication: Liaise with patients and staff to convey treatment and appointment information.
- Administrative Support: Provide general administrative support, including procurement of supplies and coordinating office needs.
- Waiting Area Management: Keep the front desk and waiting area clean, organized, and comfortable for patients.
- 2+ years of experience in a dental front desk/insurance role (preferred)
- Knowledge of scheduling, dental software, and dental insurance plans
- Strong communication, customer service, and organizational skills
- Ability to work in a high-paced environment and maintain a positive attitude
- HIPAA knowledge and compliance
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $19.00 - $22.00 per hour
Benefits:
- 10 days of vacation, 5 additional PTO days
- 8-hour shift, in person
- Day shift
- Monday to Friday (Friday shorter day)
