Job Description
IPDS seeks a motivated Technical Sales Manager to join our team and help drive IT and workforce transformation solutions for clients. You will work with experienced architects, engineers, and pre-sales to deliver IPDS value to customers and to support project delivery from concept through implementation.
Responsibilities
- SALES SUPPORT & SERVICES OPPORTUNITY MANAGEMENT
- Provide technical support for proofs of concepts and demonstration/prototypes
- Generate documentation to support effort estimates and customer responses (SOW)
- Support marketing of IPDS to customers through engagement and interaction
- Conduct intelligence gathering for sales and service opportunities with customers, partners, and vendors
- CUSTOMER ENGAGEMENT & RELATIONSHIP MANAGEMENT
- Maintain effective relationships with vendors, customers, and technical peers to support delivery
- Interact with the customer to manage expectations and support customer satisfaction, under guidance and in line with project processes
- Manage stakeholders’ expectations and provide timely, accurate information to internal or external customers
- Solve for clear, consistent messaging and communications within defined project activities
- PROJECT DELIVERY
- Deliver individual project consulting and technical expertise in systems infrastructure, integrations, and data migration across the project lifecycle
- Understand the customer project context, key deliverables, engagement methods, and work breakdown
- Assist with time frames, work package definitions, and capability requirements for successful implementation
- Provide accurate and timely information to the technical team lead or project management team
- Contribute to project support documentation in line with IPDS methodologies and customer expectations
- Support lessons learned and project close activities; comply with change management rules
- SOLUTION DELIVERY
- Collaborate with Pre-Sales to scope, design, or enhance project deliverables
- Understand the customer’s business goals and needs
- Support Architecture tasks with Infrastructure or Technical Architects
- Perform infrastructure design, sizing, and performance tuning for deployments
- Install and configure operating systems, databases, storage, VMware solutions; support data migration activities
- Develop test strategies/plans, execute tests, report results, and resolve issues
- Facilitate knowledge transfer and customer staff development
- KNOWLEDGE SHARING/REUSE AND PRACTICE PARTICIPATION
- Collaborate to support organizational knowledge sharing
- Contribute to deployment standards, processes, and policies
- Maintain awareness of latest technical trends and apply best practices in daily work
Qualifications
- United States citizenship required
- BS/BA in related discipline or equivalent combination of experience and education
- Three (3)+ years of experience in a substantial subset of the responsibilities
- Experience in data center infrastructure build and deployment, including DellEMC, Cisco, VMware, Nutanix, Commvault, Microsoft, Linux, and related technologies
- Ability to work independently on routine assignments and with light supervision on new tasks
- Willingness and availability to work core hours required by IPDS or customer projects
- Valid driver’s license
- Ability to lift 50 lbs. of equipment
Desirable Certifications
- Dell Technologies Implementation Engineer – 1 or more platforms
- Cisco CCNA or greater
- VMware VCP or greater
- ITIL 4
- MCSE
