KeyTasks:
- s Manage and administer AWS RDS databases, including configuration, and monitoring of instances.
- s Develop and execute AWS Glue ETL jobs
- s Optimize database performance through query tuning, indexing strategies, and regular maintenance tasks.
- s Establish and enforce database security policies, including user access controls, encryption, and compliance with data protection regulations.
- s Utilize AWS monitoring tools (e.g., Cloud Watch, RDS Performance Insights) to monitor database performance and health, responding to alerts and issues as they arise.
- s Evaluate and implement solutions for scaling databases based on application requirements, ensuring optimal resource utilization.
- s Work closely with application developers and data engineers to support application development and data integration processes.
- s Identify and resolve database issues promptly, providing support for incident management.
- s Participate in all Agile ceremonies.
- s 9+ years’ experience with information systems.
- s 8+ years’ experience in database administration.
- s Strong knowledge of database design, development, and administration. (e.g. PostgreSQL).
- s Experience with data integration tools (e.g. AWS Glue)
- s Proficiency in SQL and performance tuning techniques.
- s Knowledge of cloud platforms (e.g., AWS RDS).
- s Building strong relationships through Agile team(s) and personal performance
- s Collaborating in a multiple team environment
- s Exceptionally strong communication skills, verbal and written. Includes the ability to effectively communicate complex information to audiences with varying technical and system backgrounds and at multiple organizational levels
Skills:
- s CMS experience
- s Supporting client stakeholders with varying levels of Agile experience
- s Proficient in MS Project, MS Word, and MS Excel
Education / Certifications:
- s Computer Science degree or Bachelor's Degree in a related major
- o Master’s in information systems or computer science
- o Proven ability to learn new technologies quickly
The proposed salary range for this position in Maryland is 120,000 to 150,000. Final salary will be determined based on various factors.
